Eat like a local in Lunenburg County

Description
Lunenburg. Go to the very modest-looking "Knot" pub. That is where the locals go, and tourists don't know about it. Busy even in winter. Location - across from the Irving gas station.

Mahone Bay. Mug and Anchor pub. Right on the harbour. Great chowder and fish cakes in particular. This is where the locals go, and tourists too. Occasional musical evenings. In an old waterfront warehouse, enquire about the building's "knees".

Blockhouse. The Happy Cooker, right on Hwy 103 at exit 11. She knows her cooking, and, having been married to two scallop fishermen (one at a time, we presume), she knows her seafood. Scallops (IQF, individually quick frozen at sea are the best, she says) and clams and chips are specialties. Modest quarters.
