Our Lord in the Attic

Description
Located in the red-light district of Amsterdam, this stop is well worth the quick diversion. Part museum, part historical site, Our Lord in the Attic features a hidden church in the attic of a normal-looking house. The church was built around the Reformation when religous persecution of Catholics was common; the museum tells a story about life in Amsterdam during those times.

On a quick visit to Amsterdam in 2007, this was one of the most unexpectedly memorable stops. The building is quite small -- can be visited in 30-60 minutes.
