Five Fabulous Days of Local Food & Wine

Description
An easy 5 day cycling trip hitting some fabulous wineries and restaurants on Vancouver Island.
Day 1 - Leave the car at Tsawwassen and get on the Ferry to Duke Point. Stay off the main highway and follow the Rotary Cycling Trail to Cowichan Bay. In Cowichan Bay stay at the Step Inn Stones B&B and eat at the Masthead restaurant - wonderful jazz music and great local food and wine.
Day 2 - Cycle Cowichan Valley - visit the wineries - you could easily spend more than one day here - especially if you want to eat in some great places such as Cherry Point Vineyards and Merridale Cidery. Another must is Organic Fair Farms for their chocolate - it is definitely worth cycling uphill for. There are beautiful cycling roads in this area so explore! Then take the Mill Bay ferry across to Brentwood Bay (avoid the Malahat at all costs).
Day 3 - Cycle the Galloping Goose trail to Arbutus Cove B&B. The first part of the trail (in the city) is not the best, but believe me it gets better after the Langford mall. The B&B is on the water side of the trail and has a hot tub with a wicked view over the water. Note - pack a lunch - there is no nice cafe to stop at along the way. However if you forget, hold off if you can, and eat at Fuse (off the trail down the highway when the trail crosses the highway around the 39k marker). Also a good place for dinner.
Day 4 - leave the bags at the B&B and head up to the Sooke Potholes (cross over two wooden trellis bridges). Pick up your bags on the way back, and if you are really nice you may be able to convince Cathy the owner of the B&B to give you some goodies for the ride into Victoria - her chocolate chip cookies are fabulous!
Day 5 - ride the Lochside trail up to the ferry. During the fall it is beautiful with all the colours and a fabulous pumpkin patch. If you have time, take a side trip to Madrona farms, one of the small family farms associated with the Island Chefs Collaborative, a very cool initiative of local chefs. One of the founding chefs has a restaurant in Victoria - Camille's - go and order the tasting menu with wine pairings

If you don't have 5 days you can break this into two trips (Cowichan Bay area and Sooke/Victoria) of 2-4 days each.
