I volunteered at a small school and orphanage in Tanzania called Peace Matunda. It is located on Mt Meru which is so incredibly beautiful! It is 7 km
from the nearest big town and 20 km from Arusha. The people are gentle,the children are amazing and it is very safe.

It is relatively easy to get there. I flew to Amsterdam and then directly to Kilimanjaro Airport. They picked me up at the airport which is an hour drive from the orphange. Not bad for going all the way to Africa!

The volunteer experience was very rewarding, and there are lots of other things to do while you are there. You can climb Mt Meru and/or Kilimanjaro,
visit Maasi villages on market day or go on a safari.

I would highly recommend this school and orphange if you are thinking of doing a volunteer trip in Africa.
